(The chapter opens continuing from the end of "Twins," with John Sheppard's twin brother trying to pull John out of the pipe.)
John's twin brother: Hang on, John! I'll get help, just hang on!
John: Go on, hurry! I think the water's rising...
John's twin brother: I'm hurrying! I'll be right back!
(The player can view John's twin brother's thoughts here.)
(If he chooses "John":)
John's twin brother: Hold on, bro. I'll find someone. Then we'll come back and save you!
(If he chooses "Help":)
John's twin brother: Gotta find someone, the water's still rising. John won't be able to hang on for long!
(If he chooses "Fast":)
John's twin brother: Need to get help fast! John's gonna drown! John's gonna drown!
(If he chooses "Building Site":)
John's twin brother: This place is completely deserted, there's no one around to help!
(If he chooses "Mom":)
John's twin brother: Mom's work is too far away, I'd never make it in time.
(If he chooses "Dad":)
John's twin brother: Dad, I've got to get Dad! He's the only one that can save John. Gotta move!
(Once John's twin brother approaches his father:)
John's twin brother: Dad, Dad! It's John, he fell into a pipe! He's drowning!
Mr. Sheppard: Oh, get out of here, you little pest! Leave me alone.
(Mr. Sheppard raises his hand as though he intends to hit his son, and John's twin puts his arms up in defense. He then grabs his father's hand and attempts to pull him up.)
John's twin brother: You've got to come, Dad! Come on, John's gonna die, John's gonna die!
Mr. Sheppard: Well, that'll be one less greedy mouth to feed, won't it? Go away.
John's twin brother: Please, Dad, I'm begging you! John's gonna die! John's gonna die, Dad!
Mr. Sheppard: What did I tell you?! Scram!
(Mr. Sheppard shoves John's twin brother, causing him to fall.)
John's twin brother: Please, please, Dad... you've got to save John...
(Mr. Sheppard continues to drink. John's twin brother returns to the pipe alone, without help.)
John's twin brother: I tried, John, I really tried... but he wouldn't come... Please don't die, John, please.
John: Don't... don't forget about me, Scottie.
(In despair, Scott Sheppard holds his brother's hand while he drowns, ending the chapter.)
