I looked at the vial and if it was a liquid we would be able to see through it even if it was blue the hand would be seen as distorted. When Jayden first takes it out we can't see his palm so it has to be a powder.

*Trivia*[]

"The drug's name is most likely based off of two common medical terms leading to the meaning of an "Essential or Needed Painkiller". The root "trip-" was probably based off of "Tryp" in "Tryptophan" which is an essential amino acid. The suffix was most likely based off of the medical suffix "Caine" which is used for pain killers such as Procaine. This theory is supported by the fact that he mentions that the drug "Takes the pain away". Whether this is meant literally or not is unsure."

I think this is a stretch. It's more likely based off of Tryptamine [1] which is the backbone of many physchadelic drugs, and the caine was likely meant as a refrence to cocaine.

It's possible. Edit it in if you think it's noteworthy. And remember to sign your posts on Talk pages with four tildes =P Strife95 10:46, September 7, 2010 (UTC)
Tryptophan, tryptamine and triptans get their name from their functional group within their chemical structure rather than it meaning "essential", and there is more than just 1 essential amino acid (in case you didn't know). Medicines with "-caine" are alkaloid anaesthetics, which are most commonly local anaesthetics, not used just for simply any pain killer. I think the above "trivia" would be factually inaccurate.
