The wasteland is a location in the city in which Heavy Rain takes place. It is located at the foot of a hill next to a highway and a functioning railroad track.
The Origami Killer dumps Jeremy Bowles' body on the wasteland after his death, where a man walking his dog finds it around 6:00 on the morning of Tuesday, October 4, 2011. Carter Blake and several police officers arrive to secure and investigate the scene, and Norman Jayden arrives soon after in search of information that will help him develop a profile of the killer.

- Concept art of the wasteland shows an excavator at the top of the hill. It looks similar to the one owned by Jackson "Mad Jack" Neville, possibly indicating that the wasteland is close to his junkyard.
- Although Jayden states that all of the Origami Killer's victims are dumped on wastelands near railroad tracks, this is the only wasteland that appears throughout the course of the game (and the killer, as established later on, would probably not be careless enough to dump multiple bodies in the same place if he could avoid doing so).
